BMC Tugra

Heavy Truck Family, 2018

“As a team, I believe we managed to fuse an old culture with a unique and very inspiring approach.”

DesignUM created exterior and interior designs of BMC Tugra heavy truck family.

DesignUM created exterior and interior designs of BMC Tugra heavy truck family.

The engineering works are carried out by BMC and the design works are managed by infoTRON. Tugra is designed with modern and attractive language, in accordance with product identity of BMC. The project is realized in 2018. BMC officially unveiled all 7 members of Tugra family at IAA – International Motor Show, 2018 HANNOVER in September 2018.

Cohesive brand DNA across the product range

Cohesive brand DNA across the product range

Designed as part of a cohesive brand language study, the truck series introduced core identity elements that would be consistently carried across future models. The front design, graphic details, and surfaces were structured to form brand DNA. This work formed a base for the vehicles we later designed for BMC.

Extensive exploration.

Extensive exploration.

Through an extensive exploration of exterior, interior and detail sketches, the product’s distinctive form language and identity elements were defined. This iterative process allowed us to capture key differentiators while ensuring coherence within the brand framework.

After freezing the design, we worked with BMC to adapt the design into 7 different variations of road trucks, construction trucks, and tractors.

Reimagined UI Graphics and User Scenario

Reimagined UI Graphics and User Scenario

Within this project, the interior development was carried out in parallel with the design of the digital cluster graphics, including menu structure and screen flow. This integrated approach aimed to create a cohesive and comprehensive user interaction experience.

Interior design and details to meet real-world user expectations

Interior design and details to meet real-world user expectations

The truck’s interior was designed to convey an up-to-date and high-quality perception through material selection, detailing, and CMF design. Ergonomics and usability were developed in line with user expectations, enabling intuitive interaction and comfort. The design language not only responds to diverse functional needs but also creates a distinctive and differentiated cabin identity.
